Days have been rough for a teenager named Paul. Trying to keep his sanity normal is the only priority. But, having friends makes Paul doesn’t seem that helpless, they’re always by his side. They are not just friends, fellow bandmates make up their full identity. Phoebe and Marshall have been Paul’s best friends since he was a little kid.

The plan to do a band performance tomorrow seems so close to reality. Well-prepared is the only word that can describe them. High school it’s not like what people said, it never appears to be true as the “peak of teenage life”. For them, it’s just a small part of life that needs to be enjoyed.

Tomorrow means one more day to live in sorrow. Paul’s mother, whose body is already preserved in a casket, lies there painless, and even leaves a beautiful smile. The pain did scratch a part in Paul’s life, staying there the whole time. Phoebe and Marshall always calm him down, matter of fact they both also dive deep into sadness.

The day has come, they set up the guitar, piano, and microphone. Never in their life, they would expect something like this to happen. Neighbors and families are already surrounding the pre-dug grave. As the casket drops six feet down into it, they start to serenade with the deepest condolences at the back of the crowd. Time moves so slow for them, seeing Paul’s eyes are pointed at his mother’s casket.

Thirty minutes have passed and the show is finished. People start to leave after checking up on Paul. Sitting there motionless with his hands on the piano, Paul reflects on his childhood when his mother was still alive.

“Life will never be the same anymore.”

“It won’t, Paul.”

“But, it just simply doesn’t end here.”
